Look around at the season of Fall. The change is quick, yet I submit to you the beauty is only there because of the change. I do understand that as humans we enjoy comfort. Some are stressed by change, yet it comes and rarely can you stop it. Are you fighting it instead of embracing it?
Accepting change starts by acknowledging it is inevitable. You can’t hide behind what life throws at you. Embrace it. Change forces one to look at their own circumstances and evaluate with some sort of honesty. Probably best said by Viktor Frankl “When we are no longer able to change a situation – we are challenged to change ourselves.” Change forces the challenge. Don’t miss that. Embrace it and pass the challenge.
Changes also bring growth. Growth often accompanies compassion. You’ve heard it said that those who go through a divorce or disease tend to show more compassion toward those experiencing it for themselves. It is true. So embrace the growth. You may not see it yet, but you will be a beacon of hope for someone someday.
Changes also bring choices. No matter how tough the circumstance you face, you’ll be forced to make choices. Those choices will determine your growth. Choose living. In spite of your circumstances changes bring balance to your life. Perhaps balance is what you needed in the first place.
Ironically change does not affect one person, Jesus Christ. He is “the same yesterday, today and forever”. Perhaps you should start with trusting Him through your only constant in life, change.
